My story 🐾
Vanilja came to us in 2023 from a village where, instead of proper spaying, she had her tubes tied — a procedure that offers no hormonal protection and carries serious health risks. The consequences weren't long in coming: she developed viral peritonitis (FIP). She survived the treatment, but remains a feline coronavirus carrier for life.
On top of that, Vanilja was diagnosed with FIV — Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, commonly known as feline AIDS. This is not a death sentence. With proper care, FIV-positive cats can live long, full lives. But it means lifelong antiretroviral therapy and continuous immune support — every single day.
Right now, Vanilja is also struggling with serious dental problems. This comes as no surprise given her diagnosis: a weakened immune system makes the mouth particularly vulnerable. We're raising funds for her ongoing care, medications, and dental treatment.
